Samuel Kern is a PhD student at the Department of Experimental Physics at Comenius University in Bratislava. Here he obtained a Master’s degree with a thesis on superconducting quantum-limited parametric amplifiers. Currently, he is working on a microwave single-photon detector based on coupled superconducting qubits. He is also interested in development of superconducting parametric amplifiers based on Josephson junctions and disordered superconductors.
